In Februari 2017, together with a team and camera crew, I returned to the location of SKAUHYTT in the Bymarka national reserve next to Trondheim in Norway. Here we shot the footage used for WALDEN. Together with lifelong friend and artist Nelson Nijholt, we spend 10 days archived and dismantled SKAUHYTT for transport to the Netherlands.
The 4.5 hour long film HUT DOT ZIP shows this process of archiving and deconstruction of SKAUHYTT. Together with the slow decent each piece made down the mountain, a friendship is put on pressure and the realisation of the monumentality of the task sets in.
HUT DOT ZIP is currently at show alongside SKAUHYTT at De Verbeke Foundation in Kemzeke.
